Not just a book of clinical success stories, this book contains numerous stories of struggle, difficult lessons learned, and the art of clinical reasoning. The reader will learn strategies and reasoning processes that can be applied to soft-tissue therapy or across any discipline where critical thinking and reflective practice is vital.The book is divided into four sections: Strategy, Learning Through Failure, Differential Assessment, and Communication.

Author Biography

Douglas Nelson began his career in massage therapy in 1977 and still has a very active clinical practice. He is the President of BodyWork Associates, a massage therapy clinic in Champaign, IL. Established in 1982, the clinic has multiple locations and a staff of sixteen therapists. In addition, he is the founder of NMT MidWest, Inc., providing workshops in Precision Neuromuscular Therapy(TM) across the USA and abroad. He has been a neuromuscular consultant to professional and collegiate sports teams as well as conducting in-services for major companies on stress, soft-tissue injuries, and pain mechanisms. Doug has published articles in numerous journals and magazines. He has also conducted numerous clinical research studies on various topics pertaining to massage, soft-tissue pain, and neuromuscular treatment protocols.
