Oracles of Reason - Paperback
by Charles Blount (Author), Gildon (Author)
""Oracles of Reason"" is a philosophical treatise written by Charles Blount in the late 17th century. In this book, Blount argues for the supremacy of reason over religious dogma and superstition. He critiques the Bible and other religious texts, arguing that they are inconsistent and irrational. Blount also explores the nature of God, arguing that a belief in a deity is unnecessary for a moral and ethical life. The book was controversial at the time of its publication and was banned by the English government. However, it has since been recognized as an important work in the history of freethought and rationalism.1693. Written in Old English. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
