Author Biography
Laural Virtues Wauters is a visionary artist and writer who gently encourages us to connect with our personal and collective history by seeing the past, present and future as one healing story. With a deep understanding of how everything is interrelated she weaves nature, art, history, science and spirituality together to awaken the one within. Bio: As a child in her native Germany, Laural experienced a series of mystical encounters with a tree spirit that inspired her to wonder about everything. When Laural accidentally discovered she was adopted her inquisitive and sensitive nature longed for connection and purpose. After 9/11, she felt compelled to untangle the shared roots of world belief from 40,000 BCE to present day. She soon realized how the illusion of separation coincided with man's disconnection from nature and the rise of western thought. Intrigued by trees as a universal symbol Laural studied the mythical Tree of Life, and the mystical path of the soul. She was intrigued to learn that psychologist Carl Jung identified trees as the archetype of the human psyche and mandalas as the archetype of wholeness. This inspired Laural to understand the archetypal significance of the number seven. She saw sacred geometry as a progression of seven images that could be aligned within the chakras. This insight provided the vision for Mandala Chakra as Laural continued searching for ways to demonstrate how our chakras are multi-dimensional mandalas of wholeness. On 7/7/7, Laural left her 25-year career in advertising, as agency president/creative director, to pursue her soul's calling. She traveled back to Frankfurt, Germany to connect with the message of the tree spirit she received as a child, "to help people understand each other better." Before she could help others, she focused on healing her personal story. Laural used writing as a way to heal her life and to explore the depths of her soul. In 2015, she published: The Guardian Tree - the true story of Carmen Sylvia. In 2018 she published Tree Spirit Tarot - Awaken the Tree of Life Within. Laural is a graduate of the Four Winds - Healing the Light Body School of Shamanic Energy Medicine as well as a misa carrier in the Andean tradition.
