Title
The Slacker's Guide To Success - Paperback
by Ken Rabow (Author)
There is an epidemic of teens and college-age students who find themselves lost in the real world of the 21st century. Their go-to position can end up being self-sabotage, addictions, anxiety, eating disorders and more. This is true of those classified as gifted as well as those with learning, psychological or physical challenges. The Slacker's Guide to Success starts with the fact that each and every one of us has a bit of "slacker" in them. (For some, more than others). Through a simple daily routine of tasks that the client will enjoy doing, the guide empowers the reader to find their inner power and build their faith in themselves day by day. Mixed with humour, heart-warming stories and plain common-sense, this book follows in the footsteps of the great writers of the past in a sensibility that will speak to young adults of today.
Author Biography
Ken Rabow is a life empowerment coach, author and speaker in the field of self-development for teens, young adults and their families. He's the author of The Slacker's Guide to Success and has created a simple and powerful 13 step program to empower young people to find their personal successes in a challenging world. His articles have been published in the Huffington Post and Our Kids Media and he has performed at workshops and clinics in schools, businesses and music organizations throughout North America. Having spent seven years working with students on music and performance projects in Toronto, Canada, which inspired the beginning of his Real Life Coaching work, Ken started working with performance anxiety and public speaking issues. He then branched out into other needs his students required, such as general anxiety, non-compliance in health and education, self-sabotage and many more issues. He became the go-to coach when all other forms of therapy didn't seem to work. As more people sought his out-of-the-box coaching skills, Ken found the threads to success for all sorts of clients. Young adults with problems in self destructive behaviors, addictions, autism, depression, Asperger's syndrome, schizophrenia, learning challenges, and so many more found that this system worked for them when mainstream therapies didn't. The ability to empower young people through a simple daily routine, giving them dozens of opportunities weekly for small success, combined with the ability of Ken to hear what the real disconnect was for these young people with the world at large, created the right environment for each and every client to thrive. Despite being on the receiving end of a car accident which took away Ken's ability to continue performing and teaching music, as well as directing choirs, he overcame these obstacles and used them to find his own personal power. Today Ken spends much of his time empowering others to find their own "hero's journey". His focus these days is in offering on-line and real world workshops to help young people, parents, schools and businesses tap into the power of this generations many special talents.
Ken also continues writing, while leading workshops and private sessions on Skype and from his home in Toronto.
