Richard Harries is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and an Honorary Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences. After nineteen years as Bishop of Oxford, he was made a life peer (Lord Harries of Pentregarth) and he remains active inthe House of Lords on human rights issues. His voice is well known to manythrough his regular contributions to BBC Radio 4's Today programme.
