Songs for Young Singers, a careful review of more than 2,000 songs printed in over 70 anthologies, has been written to address the needs of choir directors and voice teachers of junior high and high school age students. Section I lists songs by title as well as the anthologies in which they are found. Teachers wishing to explore the works of a particular composer will turn to section II, where songs are listed by composer.
Author Biography
J. Arden Hopkin is Head of Vocal Studies at Brigham Young University and teaches studio voice and vocal pedagogy in the School of Music. Outside the university he directs the Wasatch Chorale of Provo, Utah and the Utah Valley Choral Society as well as serving as a frequent vocal and choral clinician. As an oratorio soloist, his voice has been heard around the world on the Armed Forces Radio Network performing the Messiah with the Lake Charles, LA, Symphony.
