The book and process is endorsed by many well known experts of human behavior including: Phil Zimbardo, Stanford psychology professor and 1971 principal researcher of the Stanford Prison Experiment; Ellen Langer, Harvard psychology professor and author of Mindfulness and other books; Shadd Maruna, law professor Queen's University, Belfast, Ireland and desistance expert; John Braithwaite, renowned restorative justice researcher and professor from Australia; Peter Dejong social work professor from Michigan and author of Interviewing for Solutions with Insoo Kim Berg about solution-focused brief therapy.

Author Biography

Lorenn Walker, JD, MPH, is a Hawai'i based health educator and restorative lawyer who develops, implements and evaluates interventions promoting peaceful communities and well-being for individuals. She is a former Hawai'i State Deputy Attorney General who defended state agencies including prisons and also handled some prosecutions. She later represented youth and adults in criminal and child protection cases. She was selected in 2013 for a 5 year term on the Fulbright Specialist Roster for her peacemaking work using public health including restorative justice and solution focused approaches. She is a former Juvenile Court Public Defender in Boston. She previously clerked with Lorenn Walker and Hawai'i Friends of Justice & Civic Education www.hawaiifriends.wordpress.com assisting in the provision of reentry circles in Hawai'i prisons. She also clerked with the Middlesex Probate & Family Court and The Wilmer Hale Legal Services Center. She holds a bachelor of science in social work from New York University and received her juris doctorate from Northeastern University School of Law. Her advocacy work seeks to incorporate restorative justice approaches in both civil and criminal contexts.
