1. BREATHE
"What do y-y-you think that is?" David was pointing into the belly of the quarry. A vague, dark, metallic shape was barely visible in the growing dark. "A dead robot?" I offered, laughing. "I don't know. An old car?" "I w-w-want to ssss-see." David grinned at me mischievously. Let's go in." It was 1968. Sarah, an 18-year-old relative newcomer to this northern English town, had fallen in love with the tall, gentle David. Even his stammer was endearing. In the spring dusk, the young couple went through the hilly Pennines for what should have been an innocent country drive. But by the end of this surreal evening, Sarah needed to know-for her very survival-what had really happened in the quarry?

2. WEEPING WILLOW COTTAGE
Then the banging suddenly stopped. There was a long silence followed by a confusion of sounds. Thumps, raised voices. Tools dropping. Swearing. Eve looked up from her magazine and frowned at me. My stomach lurched. I knew something was terribly wrong. Samantha is a young woman who has given up on love and decides to buy a cottage in the Buckinghamshire countryside. Despite believing that she has chosen her quaint new home, it soon becomes apparent that the haunted house has picked her for its own devices. Only after repeated, unexplained horrific events does it become clear why it is Samantha the ghosts want.

3. SUMMER DREAM
"Where are you?" she screamed, hoping to defy the deafening silence. But on the dock the stillness only became heavier and heavier, threatening to crush and swallow her. Her voice simply echoed around the empty inlet. Diane is enjoying a lazy afternoon on their summerhouse patio while her husband takes their two daughters fishing on the inlet and her parents relax inside. Before lapsing into a nap, the thirty-eight year old agonizes over her unraveling marriage. What happens next is not a wake-up call Diane had ever imagined. Only later does the true threat become apparent.

It was Tuesday. A thick early morning mist lay over the fields in front of my house. My coffee had gone cold at my computer desk. While on my way to the kitchen to top it off with hotter liquid, I heard a tentative knock at the door. I stopped, put the mug down on the kitchen counter and listened. Another knock, firmer this time. When Alicia's fiancé dies suddenly, she isolates herself in a remote country house where she chooses to be alone in her grief. When there's an unexpected knock at the door, she is surprised by her willingness to open up to these visitors. She welcomes them-at first-letting them into her world and even sharing some of her own stories. But too late she realizes nothing could have prepared her for this spine-chilling reality.
