The World of It is a hollow, lonely place when it is the only place you know. Shadows walk among shadows. Every thing and every one is objectified and converted into information to be quantified, labeled, organized, processed, and used. But we are not victims. It is something we do to each other...and ourselves.... willingly, though often unwittingly. That all changes when I Meet You with my whole being. There we resonate together in objectless awareness and arouse our vast untapped potential: opening to spiritual awakening and expanded consciousness. Finding You in a World of It is a "mental kung-fu" that helps you move from idea to action in the most effective way. It provides a detailed map to get you out of your head and fully into to the game. This practice applies in everything we do, and is a powerful means to: -Overcome fear and anxiety -Calm and clear your mind with "Instant Meditation" -Achieve peak performance in sports, martial arts, work, music, dance, public speaking...anything you choose to do -Know true and unconditional love -Deepen and strengthen relationships of all kinds and -Feel truly and exuberantly ALIVE!
Author Biography
Rick Barrett was born in Franklin, Pennsylvania in 1951, the second of eight children to Dick and Phyllis Barrett. He has been studying Chinese internal martial arts for thirty-five years and teaching for twenty-five. He won several U.S. national championships in t'ai chi ch'uan push hands, plus the Unlimited weight class at the United World Kung-fu/ Wushu Championships in Orlando (1997). Besides t'ai chi, his internal martial arts include luoxuanzhang, xingyiquan, baguazhang, and yiquan. Rick practices Polarity Therapy and other forms of energy medicine at his Greenwich Village office in New York. In his healing practice he seeks to empower the individual to true healing: a return to wholeness and full participation in life. At various times he can be found on the public tennis courts of Staten Island, walking his dog Faolan, or plugging in his Les Paul. His annual Tai Chi Alchemy retreat in Sedona, Arizona explores the possibilities of a Love-based Martial Art.
