Sarah Deane is a passionate advocate for, and expert in, User Experience. With a background in engineering and Artificial Intelligence research, Sarah's experience spans the full domain of UX including work on a variety of experiences such as software and applications, hardware, services and workplace design. Sarah's background spans positions in every phase of UX: strategy, usability, design, delivery for adoption, and support services. This unique skill set provides her a comprehensive understanding of how a user, their task and their environment interact to form a meaningful experience. Sarah has held executive and managerial roles for Experience Design and Usability for large enterprises as well as small companies. Sarah has conducted research globally on workplace experience from a physical and digital perspective to better understand the cultural and technological aspects of workplace interaction - with each other, with our technology, with our space. Sarah speaks widely on UX issues to senior management including establishing a UX practice and building a strong team, and the process of setting up and designing an Experience Lab. Sarah has spoken on panels for women in business including the Invent Your Future Conference and the America's Women Leadership Conference. She also mentors young adults from her local colleges, with a focus on young women in technology. Sarah holds a Masters in Engineering with a focus on Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence from University of Southampton, England. Her areas of interest and expertise focus on User Experience Strategy, Design, Process & Program management, UCD Process, Personas/Profiles, Usability testing and analysis, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, and Artificial Intelligence.
