She is widely published in the areas of the superintendency, gender, and educational leadership. Her two prior books were \u003cem\u003eAccessing the Superintendency: The unwritten Rules\u003c\/em\u003e (2000) and \u003cem\u003eCity Schools: Leading the Way\u003c\/em\u003e (1993), the latter co-edited with Patrick B. Forsyth.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eA theme throughout her work is how educational leaders can promote equity and excellence in the public schools. She has facilitated professional development for school board members, administrators, and teachers.
