"To Have and To Hold" by Tracie Peterson and Judith Miller is a historical romance set on the picturesque Bridal Veil Island. The story follows Audrey Cunningham, who agrees to move with her father to the island, hoping it will help him stay sober and closer to his faith. Upon their arrival, they discover that wealthy investors are purchasing land to develop a luxury resort, and their family’s property is one of the prime targets.
Marshall Graham, a contractor and former drinking companion of Audrey's deceased father, is called to the island to oversee the resort's construction. He is baffled when Boyd Cunningham asks him to keep an eye on Audrey, a task he doesn't want, especially since she is openly hostile toward him. Despite their differences, Marshall finds himself drawn to Audrey as she begins to develop feelings for another man, Zachary King, a widower with two young daughters who quickly win Audrey’s affection.
As Audrey faces pressure to part with her family’s ancestral land and deal with her growing feelings for both Marshall and Zachary, she must navigate the complexities of love, family loyalty, and the future of her property. In the end, Audrey must decide which man has captured her heart and whether she can keep her family’s land in the face of powerful opposition.
The novel weaves themes of love, faith, and perseverance, offering readers a heartfelt story of choices and change on an island where more than just land is at stake.

About the Author:
Tracie Peterson (born 1959) is a New York Times, USA Today, CBA, and ECPA bestselling author affectionately known as the “Queen of Historical Christian Fiction.” With more than 110 novels to her credit, she has captured the hearts of readers through stories that weave together faith, history, and romance. Her works often spotlight the challenges and triumphs of women in history, with many series featuring the legendary Harvey Girls of the Fred Harvey Company.
Peterson began her publishing journey under the pen name Janelle Jamison, securing her first book contract in 1992. Her debut novel, A Place to Belong, was released in 1993 with Barbour Publishing’s Heartsong Presents, a line she later helped manage, overseeing the production of 52 books a year. In 1995, she signed with Bethany House Publishers, where she continues to write exclusively, often collaborating with other acclaimed Christian authors such as Judith Pella, Judith Miller, James Scott Bell, Kimberley Woodhouse, and her daughter, Jennifer Peterson.
Her dedication to Christian fiction stems from a lifelong commitment to ministry. Tracie gave her life to Jesus at the age of six and felt called early on to share the Gospel. Her novel Embers of Love also received the USA Best Books Award for Best Religious Fiction in 2011.
A Kansas native, Tracie now resides in the mountains of Montana with her husband, Jim. Together they run Peterson Ink, Inc., which has played an integral role in producing Christian romance titles for Barbour Publishing. They have three children—Jennifer, Julie, and Erik—and continue to embrace faith, family, and storytelling as cornerstones of their lives.
